U.S. CONSUL GENERAL IN GUANGZHOU VISITS LECONG FURNITURE CITY TO DEEPEN CHINA-U.S. HOME FURNISHINGS INDUSTRY EXCHANGE AND COOPERATION

On May 18, as the U.S. President’s visit to China officially commenced, various U.S. agencies in China simultaneously advanced engagement and cooperation across various industrial sectors. The U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou chose Foshan, a leading Chinese city in home furnishing manufacturing and trade, as the first stop of its industrial inspection and exchange tour—the Louvre Furnishings Group. The U.S. delegation visited this landmark of the home furnishing industry, where the two sides held in-depth discussions on the future development of China-U.S. home furnishing trade.

The meeting was attended by Gao Baoling, U.S. Consul General in Guangzhou; Luo Ning, Economic Consul; Su Huiyi, Deputy Director of the Foshan Foreign Affairs Office; and Chen Guifang, President of the Louvre Furnishings Group.

Foshan's home furnishing industry is a brilliant symbol of China's trade sector, enjoying the well-earned reputation that “The world looks to China for home furnishings, and China looks to Foshan.” By selecting Foshan as the first stop for industrial collaboration, the U.S. delegation has fully demonstrated its high regard for the completeness of China's home furnishing supply chain, its trade service capabilities, and its brand management standards.

The U.S. delegation gained an in-depth understanding of the Louvre Furnishings Group and Lecong Furniture Market, focusing on topics such as the home furnishings industry’s response to global supply chain fluctuations, market diversification strategies in light of changing trade conditions, and the success of expanding into emerging global markets. They also expressed admiration for the scale, brand development, and trade capabilities of China’s home furnishings industry.

Both sides agreed that the home furnishings industries of China and the United States are highly complementary and share a solid foundation for cooperation. They will strengthen collaboration in areas such as environmental protection and whole-home delivery solutions, while promoting mutual recognition of standards and trade facilitation. Looking ahead, Chen Guifang, President of the Louvre Furnishings Group, stated that the company will continue to focus on its core home furnishing business and prioritize the North American market as one of its key direction, driving the systematic expansion of Chinese home furnishing brands overseas. U.S. Consul General Gao Baoling responded positively, expressing her willingness to provide practical support to facilitate the entry of Lecong's home furnishing industry into the U.S. market.

From Foshan to the world—evolving from product exports to brand globalization. The U.S. Consulate’s visit to Lecong represents not only an in-depth cross-border business dialogue but also signifies that China’s home furnishings industry is shaping the future of the global high-quality home furnishings market with a broader perspective and a steadfast stride.
